A co-working space, late night
A co-working space was shutting down for the night. She was still at a table with a half-open laptop. He was packing up nearby and asked if the seat opposite was free. She said it was. He sat down and started reviewing slides on his phone. She glanced at the screen once, then again. He noticed and turned the phone toward her. “The numbers aren’t working,” he said. She looked at the slide for a moment, then pointed at one line. “That’s the wrong metric.” He didn’t argue. They stayed until the lights in the main area went off, still talking about a company neither of them had fully committed to yet.
